The local school districts can be quite confusing. There are a number of school districts that cover the Diablo Valley, and many of them overlap city boundaries. The most common question I get from people moving to the area is “Is this house in a good school district?”. As is the case with many school districts, there is no good answer to that question. Within any school district, especially the larger ones, there can be a dramatic differences between the performance of different schools within the same district. While schools are generally ranked mainly upon the results of standardized test scores, you will find parents of kids at any given school that think it’s the best in the area for their kids.
